Journalling When You Don’t Have a Lot to Say

a Rollbahn Life Flexible Notebook

I enjoy journaling, but most days, I don’t have much to say, and I find most journals intimidating. I finish what I want to capture for the day and leave a blank space that I feel compelled to fill, but I don’t want to. On the other hand, there are times when I have a lot to say and need a lot of room.

To address this problem, I’ve developed a two-part solution. I use the Rollbahn Life Log Flexible Notebook for smaller posts and the Midori A5 Notebook for longer ones. The Rollbahn Life Log note paper is slightly smaller than A5 paper and is divided into four blocks. Each block can be dated and has a place to indicate the basic weather. There’s enough room in each block to write a short paragraph or list.

The Rollbahn Life Log Flexible notebook also contains three envelopes where I can collect things until I’m ready to use them. This usually happens when I’m ready to pull out the Midori A5 notebook and start gluing and adding thoughts to what I’ve collected.

I also use the Midori when I have a lot to write, like this past weekend when I attended the Chicago Pen show. I’ve used pencils, ballpoints, rollerballs, and fountain pens on both the Rollbahn and the Midori without any issues. There’s a slight ghosting on the Rollbahn, but I only notice it if I look for it.

In my opinion, if you find journaling intimidating, I would recommend looking into the Rollbahn Life Log Flexible notebook.
