Growing Old

We often think about the young as being open and accepting of new ideas, but that’s not necessarily true. Sometimes I think back on the person I was from 18 to 28 and I’m shocked and occasionally ashamed at how smug I was in many opinions without looking at all the facts. I was “older then” because I was hardened to my opinions like viewers of Fox News. I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now.
I hope no matter how old I get I still have the ability to rethink and update my opinions based on new information from reliable sources.
